Paramount Roofing is a quality EPDM Rubber Roofing contractor in Madison, WI.

EPDM Rubber Roofing is the best, most cost effective roofing solution for low slope commercial roofing projects in northern climates.

Most metal roofs are not suited for this low of a pitch and built-up roofs / hot tar roofs are rarely installed any more, primarily due to cost and difficulty to install, issues with longevity, and insurance issues working with open flames on a building.

We only install fully adhered EPDM rubber roofing on our commercial roofing projects to ensure long term roof life.

EPDM Rubber Roofing
is a Long Term Roofing Solution

EPDM has over 40 years of field performance with over 20 billion square feet of installations and boasts the roofing industry's longest average service life. That translates into low lifecycle costs due to less frequent replacement. Building owners also enjoy decreased disruption and reduced impact on the environment.

Our Rubber roofing systems come with warranties covering the repair of leaks from a variety of causes (including hail up to two inches and wind up to 120 mph) and offering terms of up to 30 years.

EPDM Rubber Roofing is easy to repair with a potential for restoration that is unmatched in the roofing industry. Even after years of exposure to the elements, repairs and modifications can be accomplished with relative ease.

Our EPDM Rubber Roofing will
Save You Money

Qualified ENERGY STAR rubber roofing systems are available to help reduce air conditioning and heating costs.

Our Rubber Roofs are
Durable

EPDM Rubber Roofing is an exceptional commercial roofing system. The EPDM rubber membrane is able to withstand the common factors that promote degradation, thus ensuring long lasting durability.

With the rubber roofing system, expansion and contraction, ponding, moisture, thermal shock and temperature extremes are no longer a concern as the elongation and low temperature flexibility of the EPDM membrane accommodates extreme climatic conditions without stressing the rubber roof material.

Unlike built-up roofing, EPDM membrane does not contain organic material that can decay as the result of moisture caused by condensation or leaks.

EPDM Rubber Roofs are
Environmentally Friendly

Our EPDM rubber roofing system's thermal performance can reduce energy consumption.

EPDM Rubber Roofs Benefits

  • EPDM Rubber Roofing has superior resistance to UV (ultraviolet) radiation
  • EPDM Rubber Roofing has unmatched resistance to thermal shock
  • EPDM Rubber Roofing exhibits superior resistance to cyclic fatigue
  • EPDM Rubber Roofing has superior resistance to hail damage
  • EPDM Rubber Roofing will not become brittle and will not shatter due to low temperature flexibility

TPO Roofing Systems
may be a good alternative to EPDM

As the fastest growing segment of the commercial roofing industry, TPO roofing systems are a great choice for commercial roofing projects.

TPO mechanically fastened roofing systems are designed for both low- and high-slope applications. Heat-welded seams create a monolithic membrane that provides long-term rooftop performance.

TPO roofing systems have been attributed with reducing a buildings energy consumption greatly by diminishing the cost of heating and air conditioning.

TPO Roofing Systems Benefits

  • Heat-weldable membranes
  • High wind uplift performance
  • Hail and puncture resistance
  • No slope restrictions
  • Thicker top ply membrane thickness adds improved long-term weatherability and durability
  • Sure-Wield white and tan membranes meet ENERGY STAR guidelines and are CRRC (Cool Roof Rating Council) certified
  • Reducing carbon footprint by reducing heating/cooling costs

What our roofing customers have to say...

"Paramount roofing just did a 10,000 sqft rubber roof on my office building. Over the years the roof has been a constant headache with various leaks when it rained or the snow melted. Now with my new roof I don't worry about it. Paramount did a great job and was very professional. They did the job on time and left the job site perfectly clean. Mike was great to work with and easy to reach with any questions unlike many contractors. I would recommend them for any roofing job. "

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EPDM rubber roofing?

EPDM is an elastomeric compound that is manufactured from ethylene, propylene, and a small amount of diene monomer. These ingredients are synthesized to produce a product that exhibits a high degree of ozone, ultraviolet, weathering and abrasion resistance, and outstanding low temperature flexibility. These ingredients also contribute to resistance to acids, alkalis, and oxygenated solvents (i. e. , ketones, esters, and alcohols).

What does EPDM rubber roofing look like?

Black EPDM has a smooth surface similar to natural gray slate and does not contain surface granules that can eventually be lost on other materials. White EPDM also has a smooth surface, but is white. It combines the high-performance standards of traditional EPDM with a highly reflective, environmentally friendly surface designed to cut energy costs. When used appropriately, usually in warm climates, white EPDM can reduce air-conditioning costs without sacrificing durability of the roofing system.

Is there a difference from Black EPDM rubber roofing and White EPDM rubber roofing?

In addition to the oils and the polymers used to make an EPDM membrane, another ingredient is added to the mix to enhance UV resistance. In the case of a black membrane, carbon black is added, which converts UV rays into heat. With white membrane, in lieu of carbon black, titanium dioxide is typically used to reflect UV rays and prevent it from attacking the polymer.

How long has EPDM rubber roofing been in commercial use?

For over 40 years, and with over 1 billion square feet of membrane installed worldwide, EPDM has established itself as the membrane for all climatic conditions. This is supported by various laboratory studies and actual field installations. This excellent track record is the result of unique and unmatched physical characteristics:
  • EPDM has superior resistance to UV (ultraviolet) radiation
  • EPDM has unmatched resistance to thermal shock
  • EPDM exhibits superior resistance to cyclic fatigue
  • EPDM has superior resistance to hail damage
  • EPDM will not become brittle and will not shatter due to low temperature flexibility

How long is my new EPDM rubber roof expected to last?

Over forty years ago the very first rubber roof was installed. With only basic maintenance, it is still in place today. Your new EPDM rubber roofing system has a life expectancy of over forty years! That is exceptional and combined with all of the great features that EDPM rubber roofing systems have to offer, your choice to have an EPDM Rubber Roofing Systems installed is a cost effective, stress free way to protect your property.

What is a TPO Roofing System?

TPO (Thermoplastic polyolefin) is a single-ply roofing membrane which is among one of the fastest growing commercial roofing products which have gained broad industry acceptance for their many performance and installation benefits. TPO fully adhered roofing systems are ideal for both low- and steep-sloped roof designs. The aesthetically pleasing white membrane is ideal in climates where reduction in cooling and heating costs are desired.

What is Fully Adhered Rubber Roofing Installation?

The EPDM fully adhered system is a lightweight roofing system with exceptional design flexibility. The ideal roofing system option for flat roofs, contoured roofs, irregularly shaped roofs and roofs that have limited load bearing capabilities.

Using panels measuring up to 30 feet by 100 feet, the membrane is bonded to the insulation, which has been physically attached, utilizing mechanical fasteners, stress plates and/or adhesives. Either non-reinforced or scrim reinforced membrane can be used, with the non-reinforced membrane making up most adhered installations. Fully adhered systems are lightweight and ideal for a wide range of building sizes and geometric configurations, including high-slope applications.

What are the benefits of the Fully Adhered Rubber Roofing Installation?

  • Applicable for installation on any type of roofing slope
  • Idea for unusual roofing configurations
  • Lightweight rubber roofing system
  • Exceptional high wind uplift performance
  • Great fit for roofs with PV installation and for green roofs
  • Angies List Super Service Award
  • Charlise Rubber Roofing
  • EPDM Rubber Roofing Classic
